Swami Vivekananda was a great social reformer and a very inspiring personality. His birth name was Narendranath Datta. He was born on January 12, 1863 in Calcutta (Kolkata) the capital of British India. His father was Vishwanath Datta and mother was Bhuvaneshwari Devi. He belonged to a traditional Bengali family.
